Library

Works under the direction of the Librarian. Must be able to alphabetize and have good reading skills.

Time commitment: One four-hour shift, once a week during regular Museum hours.

Library Assistant: Welcome visitors to the library, assist with document location and photocopying documents. Assist with filing.

Research Assistant: Assist staff with research requests for the public and for in-house publications including the quarterly newsletter and website, including citing sources, fact checking, and/or finding photographs.

Artifact, Photo and Audio Archive Collections

All work is implemented under the direction of the Accessions Registrar during regular Museum hours. Some computer familiarity is preferred.

Time commitment: One four-hour shift per week during regular Museum hours is preferred.

Photographs: Scan, label and inventory photographs, slides and negatives. Will be trained on the use of Past Perfect software. Must be able to read cursive, spell and evaluate the photo using comprehensible sentence structure.

Transcriptions: Transcribe and edit oral histories. Requires typing and listening skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word, and attention to detail. Must be able to type.

Artifacts: Photograph and inventory incoming and present collections and provide appropriate storage. Will be trained on the use of Past Perfect software.

Video: Transfer VHS, microfilm and celluloid film to digital format. A working knowledge of a variety of AV equipment is preferred.
